Campaign Details

On February 18, 2012, warm-hearted walkers will brave the cold TOGETHER, UNITED for a fundraising and advocacy walk downtown to help struggling Anchorage families stay warm and housed in these harsh winter months. The one-mile walk begins and ends at First United Methodist Church. All proceeds directly benefit families by providing utility or rental assistance.

Registration is free and helps us plan for the event and keep you updated on event details.

Last year, we helped 75 struggling families in Anchorage and Eagle River keep the heat on. Join us in helping to expand our impact this winter! Click the “Donate Now” button on this page to donate directly to the cause. Better yet, create your own fundraising page! Form your own team and invite your network of friends and family to help support this important cause.

As a fun incentive to fundraise for this important cause, any participant that creates a fundraising page for Walk for Warmth will be eligible for a prize drawing at the event on February 18; just click the blue "Create Your Fundraising Page" button at the top of the page to participate. Special thanks to Skinny Raven Sports, Allure Day Spa, Snow City Cafe and Sidestreet Espresso for donating some great prizes!

Why a walk? Too many of our neighbors are walking a financial tightrope to pay for housing, utilities and food. A little aid in paying utility bills will keep a family warm -- even more, it may be the tipping point in keeping a family housed. Walk for Warmth immediately addresses this need and is a powerful way for you to be part of United Way's ongoing work to see that all Anchorage families are housed, warm and on the path to financial stability.

Register today! We'll have fun activities, light refreshments, and an opportunity to advocate for a great cause.

Check out this video from last year's event... and then help us make this year's walk even better!
