Message from Tellman himself:
"these kids are not here by choice. they do not choose to live on the street. they simply don’t have a support structure at home.”
it’s the one fact i keep returning to in my head, again and again. teens shouldn’t be thinking about where they’re going to get their next meal, or where they’re going to sleep, or if they’re in a safe situation. they should be thinking about education, and friends and setting goals for the next chapter in life.
the kids on the street and in shelters – it’s not their fault. most people don’t realize that. even if i don’t reach my goal of $100,000,000 to help these guys and girls become successful adults, i at least want the entire country to know about this huge problem that’s right under our noses.
please take a moment and watch the video above. my visit to Stepping Stone put everything in perspective. i hope it does the same for you. if you’d like to share this video with friends or family, please direct them to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MLyVwhapfns&feature=player_profilepage
thanks for your support.
