Meet Brian and Kevin Dueck, Santa Cruz community members, Hunger Fighters, and yes…owners of Yogurtland Capitola and Watsonville.
Brian and Kevin Dueck have personally been involved with fighting hunger through Second Harvest Food Bank Santa Cruz for quite some time now. After they opened a Yogurtland in Capitola they contacted Grind Out Hunger and wondered if there was a way that their store could get incorporated with the cause.
“Yogurtland has such a youthful feel to it, and it brings families together for a treat. Linking up Yogurtland with a cause like Grind Out Hunger to fight hunger just makes sense.” Explained Kevin Dueck.
Brain added to that by explaining, “Grind Out is doing something different and we want to be a part of it. Raising money in a way that is fun and brings the community together all to help feed kids. We are planning on working with these guys for a long time.”
Yogurtland has their own online donation campaign…The Dueck brothers are asking the community to come by their stores in both Capitola and Watsonville, enjoy some yogurt and consider donating a single dollar to Grind Out Hunger while paying for their frozen yogurt. There are donation containers at the registers, every dollar donated can provide 4 meals for kids.
