The Opportunity

Think websites like Facebook, Google, or Yelp... now think about getting in with one of these guys at the ground-level as one of the original developers. That would have been awesome, right? Well, today's your lucky day... StayClassy.org is a website that is about to revolutionize philanthropy as the world knows it, and we need your help! 

About the Job

We are not looking for just anyone. We want up-and-coming [self-proclaimed prodigy] programmers looking to make a name for themselves, who are passionate, aggressive and extremely creative. You should like sitting in front of a computer more than you like most other things in life (we do). College-aged (or younger) preferred. 

You need to be very good friends with PHP5, and have the desire to take ownership of many areas of our new web development. You will be working along-side our lead developer and CEO to make magic happen on a daily basis. This internship provides you the opportunity to obtain a tremendous amount of hands-on experience in an extremely fun environment. It doesn't get much better than this. 

Here's what it will take for you to get in the door... 
  • Ability to build simple, efficient systems that are designed to scale
  • The ability to dominate our programming language of choice - PHP5
  • A love for MySQL... a deep love
  • Up for the challenge of expanding our website to every city in the United States within 6 months.
  • Can deal with a fast paced office environment, tight deadlines, and an office of all young people.
  • Doesn't mind pulling all-nighters if necessary (don't worry, our office is comfy)
  • A love for making a difference in this world

Pluses: 

· Interest & knowledge of search engines or social networks 
· Knowlege of XHTML/CSS, JavaScript, and/or AJAX 
· Active contributor to open source software 
· Likes to go out and socialize (like at events) when not in front of a computer. After all, we are a charity events company. 


Additional

· Hours: 40-50 hours per week.
· Compensation: Two week trial period with no pay; after that, hourly pay.

Front End Web Developer
  • Assist with our front-end development (XHMTL, CSS, JavaScript).
  • Develop cool new design features to incorporate into the new site. 
  • Knowledge of Photoshop a must, as you will be responsible for slicing Photoshop files for design purposes.
  • Willingness to learn

Back End Web Developer

The Opportunity
StayClassy.org is looking for a fall intern who is interested in Event Planning and Social Media Marketing. Major responsiblities include:

1) Co-lead the event planning and production of several events throughout the Fall Semester for local non-profit organizations.

2) Assist StayClassy.org in our city-expansion plan by executing an extensive social media campaign in a city outside of San Diego (no, you don't have to move!). 

This internship provides you the opportunity to obtain a tremendous amount of hands-on event planning experience, while developing your marketing, organizational, communication, and professional skill sets in an extremely fun environment. 

This internship is a highly sought-after position, and this fall we are only opening up three spots. Please provide a cover letter with your resume during submission. Skills:
• A very strong interest in event planning and a strong work ethic a must!
• Hands on experience in event planning a plus, but not required. 
• An understanding of social media on the web, and why it's important from a marketing perspective. 
• Experience using social networking websites, like Facebook, Myspace, Twitter, etc.
• Extensive experience with Twitter a plus, but not required (we can teach you the art form!)
• Organized & detailed oriented 
• Outgoing with strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Basic computer skills (i.e. MS Office)
• A passion for philanthropy and environmentalism a serious plus!

• Hours: 15-20 hours a week
