Chloe’s Crew is a an organization inspired by Chloe Nichols, an 8 year old girl whose spirit and determination inspires others to reach for and achieve their goals.  Chloe was a fiercely determined girl who never backed down from a challenge, and Chloe's Crew was created to keep this spirit alive. She passed away at age eight on August 25, 2009 from complications due to a medication, and yes, she fought all the way to the end

In the wake of this tragedy, Chloe’s Crew, a running and walking group, was founded in October 2009. Our inaugural run was the Carlsbad Half Marathon in January of 2010. It was a great event, and a great way to honor Chloe.  As Chloe’s Crew has grown, so has the inspiration. In January 2011 we had over 100 members from as far away as Philadelphia, including 20 first time half-marathoners. It makes Chloe’s family proud to know that this sweet child has inspired so many others to improve their health, challenge themselves and accomplish a goal many didn’t think possible.

This year Chloe’s Crew welcomes Milena Glusac a world class athlete as our coach. Milena will be putting together our training plan and coaching our Saturday runs. Saturday runs are not mandatory, but they are fun and a great way to get to know our group. Anyone who would like to register for Chloe’s Crew and come out and run with us is welcome. Runners and walkers of all abilities are welcome and whether you are a first timer or a seasoned athlete you will gain something from the experience.

Chloe’s Crew is one way we raise awareness and funds for the Chloe Nichols Foundation. The Chloe Nichols Foundation, a non-profit 501 3 (c) organization, was established as a college scholarship fund. The Chloe Nichols Foundation was created in December 2010 and awarded the first 2 college scholarships this year. The scholarships went to an outstanding young composer and musician and a talented young writer. The Chloe Nichols Foundation is proud to award these outstanding young people with College Scholarships.   

Registration for Chloe’s Crew is $30 and includes your Technical Fabric Chloe’s Crew Shirt, Half marathon training program and coached Saturday runs by Melina Glusac, and aid station supplies. Participants who choose to fundraise will be eligible for special incentives.
