LUPUS FOUNDATION OF SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA INC
The Lupus Foundation of Southern California (LFSC) is a 501©3 non-profit heath agency No. 33-0717512
LFSC originated as a small support group for local lupus patients, which gradually grew and became the San Diego Chapter of The American Lupus Society (TALS) in 1976. In August of 1996 TALS merged with the Lupus Foundation of America. In January of 2009 the LFSC resigned from the LFA and became a foundation on its own. The AFSC is affiliated with the Lupus Research Institute National Coalition.
LFSC is a member of the Combined Health Agencies (CHA) commonly referred to as the United Way/CHAD Campaign (designation number 95533). LFSC is also a member of Community Health Charities (CHC), and participates in the Combined Federal Campaign (designation number 15575).
LFSC is committed to serving lupus patients and their families by providing information, education and referral for those affected by lupus. This organization promotes public education to increase knowledge and understanding of the disease and its ramifications. It encourages support of research programs related to the diagnosis, treatment, cure, and prevention of lupus. In striving to fulfill our mission, we bring hope to the thousands whose lives are touched by lupus.
It is through the generous gifts of caring individuals, community organizations, and corporations that we are able to continue working toward life without lupus.
