The Walk may be over, but the Women Build has just begun!

 Building a better future for a well-deserving family, from raising the funds to raising the walls!

What is Women Build? 

The Women Build Project is a Habitat for Humanity International initiative  to increase the involvement of women in the advocacy and construction of decent, affordable housing. Bay Area-Houston Habitat for Humanity started its Women Build program in 2008.

Who benefits from The Women Build Project?

In the first two years BAHFH and its volunteers and supporters have helped put 4 deserving families into new homes both nationally and internationally (through tithe). Through the Women Build Project, BAHFH plans to help 2 more families (1 Nationally and 1 Internationally) move into safe homes and begin a positive new chapter in their lives in 2011.

Each Habitat for Humanity home being built in the Bay Area costs approximately $65,000 to construct. In order to raise these funds, BAHFH will be hosting its...3rd Annual Women Build Fundrasing Effort!!!

Here's how to get involved:

The women who walked will now come together on the worksite in Dickinson, TX to build a house, from scratch, for one very deserving family who will be living there. These women will swing hammers, saw wood, frame walls, lay sod, paint siding, and create a home with their bare hands. In just a few months, our Women Build Home Recipient will be able to move from an unsafe, deplorable living environment, to a safe Habitat for Humanity home; one built with love and care by a few hundred amazing, hard-working, compassionate women!
