What is an Athletes for Cancer Ambassador?
A4C Ambassadors pay it forward for someone with cancer (fighter or survivor) to have a life-changing experience through an Athletes for Cancer survivorship camp. Our next camps are March 2013. Each camp costs roughly $27,250 to put on, which is about $1700 per survivor.
It costs $1700 to send someone to camp.
What does $1700 do? It gives someone the will and confidence to live and thrive, gives someone life that was lost in cancer... it is a week that changes their life. The experience is free for survivors to attend. After all the financial challenges forced on by cancer, that's the least we can do.
Shoot to raise $2500. Your friends and family are a lot more generous than you think, I promise. If you have any questions or hesitations, send them my way! As an Ambassador to Athletes for Cancer, raising funds to send someone to camp, you are truly helping rebuild and renew lives affected by cancer.
Raising & Representing
Once you raise $250, you receive an Athletes for Cancer t-shirt and some stickers to represent the cause you support. Represent. It stirs conversation. People might ask you "What's that?" As an ambassador, you stand for our core values: HEART. STRENGTH. TENACITY. You recognize that environment, activity, mental and emotional well-being and lifestyle plays as much of a role in cancer prevention as treatment and recovery.

Why $60,000 as a campaign goal?
This is the cost of running two camps, which we just completed in November, but have two more coming up in March 2013. All Ambassador fundraising and donations will contribute to this total. After we fund these two camps, we'll change the campaign to list the next camps, and so on.
