Send a Kid to Camp Scholarship Fundraiser
Ray of Hope Camp brings a life changing summer to kids living on the fringes in Whatcom County. Rebound, a local non-profit is teaming up with our community in reaching out to these invisible kids.
Rebound's Programs and Ray of Hope Camp are the last stop for many of these kids who have been excluded from other community programs because of their behavioral and emotional challenges. At Ray of Hope kids experience seven weeks of summer fun, just be-ing kids, building relationships with trusted mentors and developing the skills they need to understand, talk about, and cope with what is happening in their lives in healthy, positive ways.
A Combined Effort:
Over 90% of the kids in Rebound (Ray of Hope/Flying Colors/Compass) programming are living at or below the federal poverty level. Approx. 1/3 of these families do not have access to state childcare benefits which pay for a portion of the camp costs. Often these are the families who need it most.
We realize that in order to reach these kids effectively, we must provide adequate staffing; this takes additional resources so we must raise money for scholarships to support the kids who have no access to funding.
Raising scholarships for kids can be done in teams of people or individually. Not only will these efforts produce opportunities for vulnerable kids, but provide opportunities for community members to work together for the common good.
Thanks,
Rebound of Whatcom County
