Surf Strong
Surf Strong is a fundraiser to support cancer survivors and their families. Now surfers can have a positive impact on the quality of life for others by doing what they love to do - surf!
The idea is simple: Surfers reach out to their friends, family, and co-workers and ask them to sponsor their Surf Strong surf session on November 7, 2009*. The support sponsors provide goes toward making a difference in the lives of cancer survivors and their families.
Surf Strong and StayClassy.org have joined forces to provide surfers with an easy and powerful way for them to achieve their fund raising goals. Surfers can set up a fundraising page right here on the StayClassy.org site and link their friends, family, and co-workers to it so that they can make a donation to sponsor their surf session. It's super simple!
All of the funds raised from this event will be donated to the Lance Armstrong Foundation. Participants that raise $100 or more will be eligible to win a raffle prize from Surf Strong's event sponsors who include Surf Club Surf Shop, Bob's Mission Surf Shop, and Pleasure Ground Eyewear.

My name is James Loren and I started Surf Strong because I've been personally affected by cancer. My girlfriend died from cancer and just this year, 2 members of my family were diagnosed. The American Cancer Society estimates that close to 1.5 million Americans will be diagnosed with cancer in 2009. Given this staggering statistic, it's quite possible that you've also been affected in one form or another by this disease.
Surf Strong is an opportunity for everyone to give back to their community. This event means so much to so many people so thank you in advance for stepping up and taking this opportunity to make a difference in the lives of other people!
