The WitKids Leadership Program (WLP) focuses on fostering social entrepreneurship in kids. We ask kids, "How do you want to make the world a better place?" and then help them turn their ideas into a reality.
WLP is offered as an after school enrichment class at the elementary school level and is facilitated by a teacher trained in the standards-based service- learning curriculum, "Whatever It Takes!". During a child's participation in the program they will design and launch projects that will make an impact locally, nationally and internationally. Taking on roles such as Advertisers and Accountants, children gain "real life" experience. To date, our elementary WitKids have launched projects that have improved the lives of over 10,000 people worldwide. From school playground improvements to care packages for our soldiers overseas, they are doing WIT to make the world a better place!
Our high-school WitKids meet during the school day and utilize the "Whatever It Takes!" curriculum slightly differently. They travel nationally and internationally and implement the projects they have designed. Currently, there are WitKids from San Diego, CA planning a week-long trip to New Orleans, LA, where they will launch a school improvement project they co-designed with students from New Orleans.
