As some of you might know, earlier this year my wife Sara and I lost our little boy Myles Alexander Eusebio to a rare disease called ARPKD (Autosomal Recessive Polycystic Kidney Disease). Although Myles did not pass from cancer, we feel his spirit would have wanted us to help those who need aid in battling any disease. Unfortunately, Myles lived for a very short amount of time, not even one full day. Even in his short lived life, he will play an important role in helping other children live they're lives as fullfilled and happy as they can.
Pablo obviously never met Myles, but a silly as it might sound I really hope there is a heaven and Pablo is teaching little Myles the ropes of hanging out up there.
Pablove has played an important role in helping me cope with Myles. Once Jeff found out our tragic news, he reached out and simply asked to go on a bike ride with me. To this day, it's been the most important bike ride of my life. What'd I get out of the bike ride? That this world is filled with wonderful people who believe in passing goodness to others. Maybe you and I can join them on their journey of spreading love.
Cancer claims the lives of more children than any other disease. There have been no new drugs developed specifically for pediatric cancer in the past 20 years. Pediatric cancer research is grossly underfunded by our government. To make a difference, people like you and me have to get involved.
I'm partnering with Pablove Across America to support the mission of the Pablove Foundation: to fund pediatric cancer research and advances in treatment, educate and empower cancer families, and improve the quality of life for children living with cancer through hospital play, music and arts programs.
