Hey everyone.
If you know me (and if you somehow find your way to this page you probably do), you know I like to write. And every year for the past three years, I've participated in National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo), a challenge to write a 50000 word novel in 30 days. So far I've written two complete novels ("jonathan dark: a personal blog" and "Dirk Maverick and the Sky Pirates of Atlantis") and one unfinished one ("War, Love, and Other Deadly Things.") Ever since I started, NaNoWriMo has been an incredibly important part of my year, both as an outlet and as an incredible source of inspiration.
This year I've decided to give my creativity an extra boost by going to the Night of Writing Dangerously, a charity event supporting the Office of Letters and Light. For those of you who don't know, the OLL 501(c)(3) is a non-profit (read: tax deductable) organization that runs NaNoWriMo and its screenwriting counterpart, Script Frenzy. In addition to maintaining the crazy community that surrounds these two events, they also run hundreds of free creative writing programs in schools for kids. Here's a nice picture the OLL sent me to show you how happy kids are when they can write:

So to help kickstart both these kids' and my own imaginations, I'm raising money for the Office of Letters and Light. I'd like to try and raise the minimum $250 by October 1st $1000 by November 17th at 11:59pm but ideally I'd raise as much money as possible to make sure that the OLL is able to continue to provide amazing programs like Screnzy, NaNoWriMo, and then newly launched Camp NaNoWriMo that keeps the creative spirit going year round. I hope that you'll consider supporting my efforts. Even if you can't donate a lot, it doesn't take that much to help the OLL continue its work.
Edit: It's currently November and I'm well on my way to completing my fourth NaNo, "Jacked In." While I've raised enough to attend the Night of Writing Dangerously, I'd like to continue to thank the OLL for all the inspiration they've given me. I'd really appreciate any support that you can give.
