Dear Friends, Family, and Righteous Supporters,
This November, I'm writing a novel. Well, continuing a novel to be exact, as part of National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo). I took the challenge last year and wrote the 1st 50,000 words of "Karma's Calling" and this year I will write the next 50,000 words. All because of the inspiration of Nanowrimo!
Without it, I never would have set aside my fears, my imperfections, my lack of correct punctuation to simply write. What made that possible is the Nanowrimo challenge to write 50,000 words in the month of November. Nothing else. It doesn't matter what you write, how well you write, what your plot is, how good your spelling is, all that matters is that you write 50,000 words. What emerged for me was not a complete piece of crap as expected, but rather, a pretty fabulous beginning to a really cool science fiction novel.
NaNoWriMo is free. And I'm raising money to help the nonprofit that runs it build and inspire communities within classrooms, coffee shops, libraries, and living rooms all over the world and help the inspiration flow for me and thousands of my fellow novelists.
Every dollar I raise is testament to my commitment to encouraging the future of writing and the next wave of great writers. More importantly, your contribution will help The 'Office of Letters and Light' build a more engaged and inspiring world for those would be writers of the future.
Thank you so much for your support of my writing! I'll be posting updates on my novel and fundraising on my sponsorship page throughout the month.
