HELLO Family & Friends!!! Thanks for visiting my page!!

Using fashion as a vehicle for

EMPOWERMENT, SELF-EXPRESSION, & HEALING

Jeans 4 Justice is a unique non-profit organization that creates partnerships

with cutting-edge artists, designers, innovators, and educators

to advocate against sexual violence.

I have been inspired by Jeans 4 Justice to change my life as I know it
and go through rigorous training to finish a half marathon in January
and to raise a minimum of $1500 for the cause!!!

I am sure that most of you who know me probably don't see me
running a marathon. So you might be asking yourself why this cause?
I am running in honor of a close family member who was a victim of a brutal rape.

I am sure you know someone too. Here is your chance to show your support.

I am also doing this for myself! It's a major undertaking for me and I
will be so proud of myself WHEN I pull this off! However, I need your
help and support! I am turning off The Real Housewives episodes, putting my wine glass down,
getting off the couch and committing myself to this for the next four
months!!!

SO PLEASE help me support Jeans 4 Justice by making a donation. The
process is fast, easy, and secure. I truly appreciate any support you
can provide. It will benefit a great cause!

The name Jeans 4 Justice is inspired by a 1999 case in Italian High Court in which a rape conviction was overturned because the victim was wearing jeans. The court concluded, “It is common knowledge…that jeans cannot even be partly removed without the effective help of the person wearing them…and it is impossible if the victim is struggling with all her might.” The founder of J4J was distraught by the idea that jeans, such an integral staple to a woman’s wardrobe, could lead to this unjust ruling. This case has motivated many to act and use jeans as an awareness tool to take a stand against this case and other rape myths such as ‘she was asking for it because she was wearing revealing clothing.’

If you can’t make a donation at this point, help me reach my goal by
sharing this page on Facebook and Twitter!
Or, even better, send an e-mail to friends you think might be
interested in contributing and include a link to my page!

Thank you for your generosity!

Warm Regards,

Shawna Wigell
