Bladder cancer is the fifth most commonly diagnosed cancer in the United States, yet most people know nothing about it. Last year, over 70,000 people in the US were diagnosed with bladder cancer and over 14,000 people died from it.
My husband, Jack Aregood passed away from Bladder Cancer. Before Jack died, I made a promise to him that I would do volunteer work to help make people aware of Bladder Cancer. My goal is to help others, so that what happened to Jack, may not have to happen to someone else.
On Saturday, May 5, 2012, people across the country will be joining the Bladder Cancer Advocacy Network to Walk for Bladder Cancer. I am walking to raise money for the Bladder Cancer Advocacy Network (BCAN) and their programs supporting bladder cancer research and education.
There is no cost to register for the walk, but any donation you can make is appreciated and will be used for bladder cancer research and education. All walkers will get a bladder cancer T-shirt for participating.
I hope you will join me by making a donation, if possible, walking with me, and helping raise awareness of this disease.
Thank you for your time and your support. If you can meet me on the boardwalk on May 5th, would love to see you there. If you cannot attend, please say a prayer on that day for all those who suffer from Bladder Cancer and from all cancers.
When I meet Jack in heaven, would love to be able to tell him, there is a cure for Bladder Cancer!
