The Walk...
Hi All,
Thanks for visiting my fundraiser page. On March 15, 2012, I was diagnosed with bladder cancer. I was debating whether to create this page or not - we all get so many requests for support. However, after experiencing my first surgery and learning about the treatment I will be going through I wanted to do something to honor those who have battled this illnes and supported a cure in the past. Through their generosity, treatments were developed that will give me and many others a great chance of being cured. I also want to do my best to pay it forward for those who will struggle with this illness in the future.
Bladder cancer is the fifth most commonly diagnosed cancer in the United States, yet most people know nothing about it. The most common question I have been getting is... How did you know you have it? Answer... It burns when I pee. Don't ignore it if it's happening to you.
Last year, over 70,000 people in the US were diagnosed with bladder cancer and over 14,000 people died from it.
On Saturday, May 5, 2012, people across the country will be joining the Bladder Cancer Advocacy Network to Walk for Bladder Cancer. I am walking to raise money for the Bladder Cancer Advocacy Network (BCAN) and their programs supporting bladder cancer research and education.
I hope you will join me by making a donation, walking with me, and helping raise awareness of this disease.
Please consider making a donation right now. The process is fast, easy, and secure, and your donation will make a difference.
