I am raising money to help veterans make the transition home!

This summer, five U.S. veterans will bicycle across the nation to prove that war-related wounds can be healed.  This group of former service people includes men and women of diverse ages, backgrounds, and interests.

Their goal is simple: to use the road to heal their wounds from war, to draw attention to the fact that many veterans face difficulties coming home, and to raise funds for programs which allow veterans to heal.

My goal is to raise $5,000 of the $75,000 needed to accomplish this year's ride.  Monies above and beyond this goal will go towards supporting future rides and other non-profits that serve our troops (www.longroadhomeproject.com).

Will you help me reach my goal and support our troops?

$2500 will cover food for one cyclist for 3 months.

$420 or $0.10 cents for the 4200 miles the cyclists will ride.

$250 or less than 1 penny for the 25 million veterans in the United States.

$90 or $1 for every day the cyclists will be on the road.

$50 or $10 for each cyclist of the Long Road Home Project.

You can also help me reach my goal by sharing this page on Facebook and Twitter! Consider joining my team to fundraise, and tell your friends and family that you believe in helping our veterans heal as they come home from the war.

"Met the Long Road Home riders and support team on September 26th at the Oconaluftee Visitor Center as you were heading out on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Having driven the Blue Ridge Parkway several times, I knew the next 12 miles of your national trek would be a grueling, non-stop climb - incredibly difficult, to say the least. As I later drove by you and the other team riders heading up the Parkway, I couldn't help but be impressed by the physiological effort necessary to do what you set out to do. As a 24-year Army veteran, and still an avid cyclist and runner, I was impressed and moved by your individual efforts, commitment, dedication, courage and service as veterans helping veterans. Although but a small donation, I hope this helps. God Bless the entire team. "
