Welcome to my fundraising page for Jones Valley Teaching Farm! Please help me support Jones Valley in their mission to empower future generations with an educaiton to eat smarter, think healthier--and live better.
And here's something really great: this year, Protective Life, has pledged to match every dollar donated to Jones Valley through an online campaign, up to $50,000. A donation of any amount is greatly appreciated, as is helping me spread the word about this campaign. Don't forget that online campaigns are driven by email, Facebook and Twitter. Take action and let people know how you and I are helping make a difference during this holiday season.
Why support Jones Valley?
Food-related health and economic problems have become an undeniable focal point in the pursuit of productive and healthy communities, especially within low-income, urban communities where access to things like high performing schools and healthy food are not readily available. Many of the food-related issues affecting our city have become generational problems---like the estimated 23,000 children living in neighborhoods where mainstream grocers are far away.
Despite some of these problems, we cannot lose sight of the opportunities that already exist to create real solutions to the problems affecting younger generations.
Jones Valley Teaching Farm is building on its history of partnering with schools and teachers to grow its impact throughout Birmingham City Schools. Their goal is to educate 5,000 K-8 students next year. In a time where nutrition and food education have never been more important, Jones Valley is responding--and now I am asking you to do the same. Join me in supporting the growth of this important organization in our city.
Thank you for your investment in Jones Valley Teaching Farm.
