The Columbia University Lions Football Team will host the third annual Jacked 4 Jaclyn Lift-A-Thon to raise money for the Friends of Jaclyn Foundation on April 27, 2013.  Come support the players as they bench press until absolute muscular failure in support of a foundation that strives to provide love, support, and friendship.  Formed in 2005, the Friends of Jaclyn Foundation (FOJ) is a 501(c)(3), non-profit, charitable organization that improves the quality of life for children with pediatric brain tumors and their families.

Now in our third year as a member and supporter of the Friends of Jaclyn Foundation, Columbia football has continued to grow closer with fellow Lion, Stuart MacNaughton, age 5.  Stuart is a source of constant inspiration and strength for members of the team, with parents whose care for Stuart epitomizes the values of love and sacrifice.  Over these last few years, the team has seen Stuart grow and develop from a shy and tearful toddler to a fun-loving and rambunctious youngster.  Stuart, and his older brother Bo, have visited football training sessions, eaten dinner with team members, and even enjoyed an afternoon of legos and backyard football with players at their house in Bronxville, NY.  Players ALWAYS expect that Stuart and Bo will be giving them high fives as they enter the field, and in 2006 Stuart and Bo got to walk out to the official coin toss of the Liberty Cup game against Fordham.  It is our expectation that Stuart will continue to grow big and strong among Lions, even as different classes of players graduate and move on from CU.

Players are now asking their family, friends, and coaches to support them as they try to display their physical power on the bench press.  Players are looking for at least five sponsors each to either sponsor them per repetition of bench press or as a flat donation. EVERY REP AND EVERY DOLLAR COUNTS!  There is no donation or sponsorship too small.   Last year we raised $11,000 and we hope to break $10,000 dollars again this year.  So, come cheer on Columbia Football as we put our muscle to good use for a worthy cause.
