Powder Puff Breast Cancer Awareness Event
Breast Cancer is a growing epidemic amongst our community that effects the daily lives of women and on a greater spectrum families around the world. However, it is often percieved that women directly effected or older women who are passionate about the topic are those who only can help support the cause. Teenagers are young people who are usually stereo typed when involving these serious topics of the world today. Although we are young, that does not mean we aren't able to make a difference. Instead of settling for what is being fed by society, the upcoming generation is able to make a change. Embracing our youth may be our most powerful ability! Being young comes along with characteristics such as energy, innovative ideas, creativity, and an open mind to society's changes. Therefore, on October 13, 2012 help make a change and help support breast cancer awareness within our community!
Powder Puff was an idea that was established for this event due to the activity being only for women, therefore it is perfect for the event also because we are teenagers we are able to excercise while supporting an important cause!
Bishop O'Dowd High School and Saint Mary's College High School are two prestigious institutions within the Bay Area. When living in the Bay Area region and deciding on a high school education these two schools are almost always in the conversation of attendance. Therefore due to the popularity and community of students with friendships at both institutions it is only appropriate that these schools are the hosts of this event.
Concluding, along with the social aspects of this event the purpose of this powder puff game is to support breast cancer awareness and as the younger generation take a stand within the community.
