Not For Sale Uses Rock’n Roll to Fight Slavery

There are over 30 million slaves in the world today. Human trafficking is the fastest-growing criminal industry worldwide and generates more than $32 billion per year. Today, children and adults around the globe are enslaved in sex trafficking, forced labor, debt bondage and military servitude.
Free2Rock unites bands, fans and Not For Sale in the fight to end slavery. Each month, a limited-edition T-shirt is exclusively designed with the band and is available for ten days at the Not For Sale Store.
The purchase of a Free2Rock T-shirt provides jobs, training and economic development for at-risk men, women and children. Not For Sale recognizes that it is not enough to rescue a victim. Real changes comes when we address the root causes that drive people into situations of exploitation. To prevent slavery from happening in the first place, we must break the cycle of exploitation by creating economic opportunities and strengthening community development.
So how does the purchase of a Free2Rock T-shirt bring freedom to vulnerable populations? The shirts are produced at Not For Sale’s partner factory in EL Salvador that provides safe, sustainable jobs and programs to those who might otherwise be at risk. Then Not For Sale partners with bands such as Tenth Avenue North, ENATION, Plain White T’s and Third Day to sell the specially designed shirt each month.
All of the proceeds from each shirt directly allow Not For Sale to provide job skills, economic development and artisan training to equip the community with dignified employment and a lasting future.
