Philanthropic Filmmakers

There are many organizations throughout the world doing amazing philanthropic work. Unfortunately, this work often goes unnoticed. Media and Video have transformed how awareness is raised and how support is gained for important issues. Change For Balance is the catalyst for that awareness.

Since their inception in 2008, the boys at Change For Balance, Roddy Tabatabai, John McCarthy, and Adam Steel, have been working non-stop to build their organization. Change For Balance Productions is a multimedia company and creative agency that supports groups and individuals contributing to the betterment of humanity. Their focus is on documentaries, web TV shows, promotional videos, music videos, as well as other creative media carrying a positive message to help inform and inspire.

Below are some 2012 projects they worked on:

ANEW:
A short documentary to raise awareness and support for ANEW, a non-profit that takes surplus furniture that was bound for America’s landfills and provides those items to non-profits around the world.

ANEW was an official selection at the Filmanthropy Fest, Catalina Film Fest, Awareness Fest, and won 3 awards at the LA MOVIE AWARDS

In the Winter of 2011 Change For Balance traveled to Mysore, India to document the story of the first female yoga teacher, of both men and women. Saraswathi Jois is the daughter of World Famous Sri K. Pattabhi Jois who was known for the ancient practice of Ashtanga Yoga. Saraswathi is the story of a woman who broke through countless cultural stereotypes to follow her passion and dream; the Daughter of a historical figure and the mother of a modern day Yoga master, Sharath Jois.

This documentary has won three awards to date including 1st place at the LA Movie Awards.

Change for Balance Productions partnered with RebelliousTruths.org, a social movement for truth, integrity and accountability in our political and media systems; to educate the populace on the major issues they are not being informed about, or being misinformed about. Utilizing our innovative and creative film production techniques we strategically created and released the Rebellious Truths video campaign, all videos went viral in the first week and 5 were voted the most favorited video on youtube in their first day.

The CUT: (In Production)
Change For Balance Partnered with the Gen Why Project The Cut Studios Foundation for a new docu-series, the CUT.

Despite the difficult circumstances many high school students face (foster-care, poverty, abuse, lack of opportunity, etc.), their passion for music can be a catalyst for improving their lives both inside and outside the classroom. The CUT Studios connects with at-risk youth and provides them an opportunity to pursue their music careers while assisting and empowering them through mentorship and academic achievement.
