About Lions Camp Tatiyee
Nestled in the heart of the White Mountains, between Show Low and Pinetop, Lions Camp Tatiyee has been home to special needs children and adults for over 60 years. From the first week of May and each week until early August, Camp Tatiyee is known as the "home away from home” for 40 to 60 special challenged children or adults with a variety of disabilities and conditions. Each week the campers build bonds with each other, ride on go-karts, fish at the pond, play in the mud pit, swim in the heated indoor pool, cook and sing by the campfire, and countless other activities, all free of charge to them through generous donations. Running the camp is costly, but the week is amazing for the camper and it is well worth it!
Now, we need your help! Lions Camp Tatiyee will be hosting their 1st Annual Walk/Run ‘n Roll to raise money for this magical place, a little place of heaven as some refer to it! The walk will begin at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 13, 2013, at the Arizona State Schools for the Deaf and for the Blind (ASDB) located at 1200 E. Speedway in Tucson, Arizona. Whether you bring your running shoes, your wheels, or support a walker, come join us for fun, running, walking, and raising money for a wonderful cause!
